Description
This is a unique shape I’ve not encountered before, which I’ll christen the “Italian Flowerpot.” It’s a feisty, lightweight pipe with a narrow saddle stem and round slender shank. It’s flat-bottomed (therefore a sitter) and has a bowl that flares out slightly towards the top, with the rounded mushroom rim of a calabash. Dark, black stained sandblast captured regular ring grain around the bowl, but the bottom, and the end of the shank, have been left smooth for contrast. A lightweight pipe, perfect for clenching, that measures 5 1/2″ with a 1 7/8″ bowl.
