This is a “seahorse” shape. Take a look at that first picture again and you’ll see why. This pipe is an exercise in contrasts between the clean straight grain and the rippling surfaces and curves. The most remarkable thing about it is the way every surface seems to ripple as if it’s being seen through water. 5 1/4″ long with a 1 3/4″ bowl, the tapered stem has been accented with green lucite. It’s especially comfortable to hold in the hand, too, with a cozy curve to rest your finger. Made by in-house pipemaker Nick Johnson.
