Charatan “Executive” Large Dublin-Liverpool Estate Pipe

$200.00

This Estate Charatan is an “Executive” grade. The shape is a large Liverpool (part of the Canadian family of pipe shapes, defined by a billiard style bowl with a shank that is 1.5 to 2 times the length of the bowl height, with a short tapered stem) but is quite unique as the bowl shape is that of a Dublin.

Charatan was very well known to have excellent hand work on their pipes, altering the shape to display the grain as beautiful as it could be shown. Therefore, this Liverpool most likely has a Dublin shaped bowl because that is the direction the grain traveled in, and the priority to capture the grain was set above meeting the strict English shape chart standards. They clearly did an great job of capturing the grain, as is the standard with Charatan.

This moderately smoked pipe is part of a recently acquired estate of Charatan’s Make pipes from the 60s to the 80s. It has been our pleasure to lovingly restore these rare and iconic pipes.

6 3/4″ long with a 2 1/8″ bowl.
