Description
This pair of rare 1968 Dunhill Shell Briars came to our shop recently in excellent condition. They have been very lightly smoked and required almost no restoration.
At first glance, this pair of seems remarkably similar. Both are Group 4 Shell Briars, measuring 5 3/8″ by 1 3/4″. Both are classic billiards with traditional tapered bits.
On closer inspection, it is the grain that sets them apart. One pipe has striking vertical texture that wraps all the way down the sides and across the bottom in prominent ridges. The other has a ring grain pattern, defined with craggy regularity.
Both feel great in the hand and are lightweight for easy clenching.
These pipes come in a custom fitted case with a clasp that still works. The logo and seal are still crisp and visible. At 56 years old and in this condition, this is a rare treasure for any dedicated Dunhill smoker or collector!
