A lovely example of an older, patent era Root Briar. Unlike today’s Root finished pipes, this Dublin has what appears to be a contrast stain that allows the grain to pop. It’s akin to the Comoy’s ‘Blue Riband’ finish, though a bit lighter. The nomenclature is faded but legible and the bowl and stem are clean and free of scratches. A stunning pipe.
