Here is a fine example of crosscut grain. The birds eye on either side of the bowl is tight and plentiful, extending all the way on to the shank. The rim is slightly beveled on both the inside and outside from buffing, but the rest of the pipe remains in good shape. The stem is clean and rather flush to the shank aside from a small tooth mark on the bottom.
