I just love the sandblast on this old 1968 Dunhill. It’s deep and craggy, running in vertical ridges. It’s a more pronounced texture than you find on their standard Shell Briars, and one that invokes the rugged, natural source of this remarkable smoking material.
In shape it’s a classic billiard, group 4 size, 5 3/8″ long with a 1 3/4″ bowl. The Tanshell finish is a lightly stained tan to walnut color with some reddish highlights.
It has been moderately to heavily smoked, but retains the original saddle bit. Heavy buffing has smoothed the button somewhat. There is some moderate charring on the rim. A great price on another old favorite that’s just ready to be a new favorite!
