Description
This “Charatan Freehand Straight Grain Group 4 Double Comfort Stem” is a unique piece from the famous English pipe company Charatan. Their pipes are always great smokers, and with there proprietary “double comfort stem” great clenchers, yet they are no longer in business, so if you want one of the great English pipe brands, get it while you can!
This particular Charatan is a unique freehand shape, although it clearly doesn’t jive with Danish freehands, or Neo-Classical Italian shaping cues. So dispute the unique shaping, and it being a freehand, the shaping is clearly of English influence, something very rare to find in a freehand, but something that Charatan did will and often.
