Caminetto Sitting 3/4 Bent Dublin SPECIAL EDITION XMAS 2009

Caminetto has been around for nearly 60 years and is easily one of the top, and arguably the top Italian brand of pipes as far as quality goes. They helped set the high standard for what an Italian pipe is expected to be, and continue to reach that expectation from smokers and collectors. Caminetto’s founder was the first to use acrylic as a stem material, and that is now synonymous with Italian pipes, he was also the first to develop “stem funneling,” a way to spread the smoke around the pallet and retain draft hole volume with many other benefits. Stem funneling is now a standard and expected in any high-end pipe. This list could go on; there is a reason that Caminetto is still one of the best brands and still very relevant after almost 60 years, anyone who has smoked their pipes can attest to that. Tomi Ascorti, the founders grandson, is the owner and head pipe maker, keeping the Caminetto legacy alive in great standing.

This is Caminetto is a very unique shape, it has a flat heel, so it sit perfectly, yet it is a 3/4 bent Dublin with a shank extention. A contemporary spin on a classic shape, yet it still carries a timeless feel.

The Shape is complimented by absolutely stunning and textbook cross-grain. This pipe is in a natural virgin smooth finish, as it needs no more to showcase its prefect grain. The cross-grain it on both side of the bowl and shank, with the birds-eye end grain being predominantly displayed on the backside of the bowl as well as along the shank.

This particular pipe from Caminetto is composed beautifully, perfectly, and it is very unique in its shape and make, as this was a limited edition pipe that they released for Xmas 2009. This very well be, and most likely is, the last of this particular pipe.

It is engineered perfectly, as one would expect no less from Caminetto, balanced both visually and physically. Both pipe smokers and collectors alike will appreciate this pipe and would make an excellent addition to anyone’s pipe rotation and/or collection.
