Caminetto 55 Year Anniversary Pipe Limited Edition Oval Shanked Brandy With Sterling Silver Engraved Band No. 53/55
Caminetto has been around for nearly 60 years and is easily one of the top, and arguably the top Italian brand of pipes as far as quality goes. They helped set the high standard for what an Italian pipe is expected to be, and continue to reach that expectation from smokers and collectors. Caminetto’s founder was the first to use acrylic as a stem material, and that is now synonymous with Italian pipes, he was also the first to develop “stem funneling,” a way to spread the smoke around the pallet and retain draft hole volume with many other benefits. Stem funneling is now a standard and expected in any high-end pipe. This list could go on; there is a reason that Caminetto is still one of the best brands and still very relevant after almost 60 years, anyone who has smoked their pipes can attest to that. Tomi Ascorti, the founders grandson, is the owner and head pipe maker, keeping the Caminetto legacy alive in great standing.
This is a very special and limted editon pipe made by Caminetto, made for theri 55th anniversary. 55 pipes were made, this is number 53 of 55 (all of which is engraved on the sterling silver band.
It is a brandy shape with a long oval stem and a sterling silver band. The shape is classic, refined, elegant, and timeless. This pipe showcases the straight grain beautiful, complimented by the large heel, as is found on a brandy shape, shows tight birds-eye end grain.
The pipe has a classic dark ruby stain that brings out contrast in the grain.
It is engineered perfectly, as one would expect no less from Caminetto, balanced both visually and physically. Both pipe smokers and collectors alike will appreciate this pipe and would make an excellent addition to anyone’s pipe rotation and/or collection.
