Description
This is a pipe from an estate collection we received, all pipes in this collection were lightly used and clearly cared for; we cleaned up and restored what was needed, and that was minimal due to the excellent care the previous owner took. We just had to do some light reeming, buffing, and polishing.
This is an estate Ascorti pipe in the “Canadian” shape. It is a timeless looking classic pipe, as it is a “Canadian” pipe, a shape from the classic English shape chart. Yet Ascorti is a classic Italian pipe brand that put a neo-classical Italian spin on it, making it their own. It has all the Canadian attributes, a long oval shank, short tapered stem with a billiard style bowl. Yet here it is a little shorter than most “Canadians”, it has the unique Ascorti rustication, and has Italian shaping cues that can be clearly seen in the heel and the shank/stem taper.
This pipe is smooth with 360 degree straight grain. The bowl it wide, tall, quite light, and has perfect bend so it can be clenched easily and comfortably, and the quarter bend only makes the balance, both physical and aesthetic better.
This clearly expertly crafted pipe would make a great addition to any pipe smokers collection.
